What WAL will be

A long held dream of the artists in Lowell has been the creation of true artist live/work space and BPV Lowell has worked closely with the Western Avenue Studios Artist Association to create Western Avenue Lofts.

Western Avenue Lofts will be a special place, a haven for artists to both live and work, and all part of the complex that houses the larger Western Avenue Studios.  The Studios have grown to be a tremendous success: we have 145 studios, more than 200 artists, a cooperative gallery on site open five days a week, Open Studios the first Saturday of every month and even The Space, a music rehearsal space and recording studio with a wi-fi café open to the artists and the public.  Western Avenue Studios is home to local and world-renowned artists and was recently profiled on WCVBs Chronicle as well as All Things Considered on WGBH.

At the Lofts, we believe the WAS community of artists will be enhanced and strengthened by this addition of 50 live/work units.

• We believe in the freedom to tailor your own space, to make yourself comfortable and productive in a community of like-minded, inspiring peers.
